Meg Pattern

I’m a 3D generalist currently working at Kettle Studio, an animation and VFX studio based in South Oxfordshire, UK. My main interests lie in digital painting, modeling, texturing, shading, matchmoving, animation and production. I constantly strive to exceed my creativity, learn as much as I can about all elements of CGI and VFX to improve my generalist skills and become a stronger versatile artist.

My initial journey into the world of CGI was not the typical route most people take and after focusing for over 12 years on figure skating I decided to change my career path and mix together a fusion of all my interests and talents. From the intricate creativity of art and design, to the technical skills of computing and gaming and the fluidity, precision and movement of dance and ice skating I focussed on acquiring the skills needed, through personal learning and higher education to pursue a career in the animation and VFX industry.

This drive to succeed led me to graduate in November 2011 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Animation at Sheffield Hallam University and later graduate with a Merit from the NCCA Bournemouth University where I studied a Masters in 3D Computer Animation.

Ever since graduating I have continued to work hard to become the best that I can be. My passion is never ending and I strive to continuously grow as an artist to create beautiful and striking images and make things move with entertaining and interesting motion for all to enjoy.
